Rob Fukuzaki's Heads Up Youth Foundation

Science Lab Grand Opening

A ribbon cutting ceremony and science workshop was held on Monday, November 27, 2017 for the faculty and students at Oxnard Street Elementary School in North Hollywood.  The Heads Up Youth Foundation transformed an empty classroom into a beautiful science lab where the students could engage in hands-on and interactive science experiments and STEM activities.  The lab was designed in a way to promote collaborative learning where the students could work together and share ideas with one another.

During the ribbon cutting ceremony, the school was presented with new furniture, supplies and equipment for the lab.  The day's festivities culminated with a science workshop, led by Molly of Mad Science LA.  The highlight of the workshop was the students making slime!

Oxnard Street Elementary is a Title I School in the LA Unified School District serving over 400 students in the Pre-K through 5th grades.
